Each 50 minute session costs £70.
-
It is important to note this fee supports our work beyond the 50 minute session, contributing to superision costs, relevant trainings, continuing professional development and the research and preparatory work I do outside of sessions to ensure the work meets your needs as comprehensively as possible.
-
I do offer a limited number of concessionary spaces to those who might not be able to otherwise access therapy. If you think you may be eligible, do feel free to enquire about working at a lower rate than my standard £70 fee.
-
Typically, I meet clients once per week, at the same time each week. Fortnightly work is also possible upon discussion, though I do recommend clients begin weekly at the beginning of our work to establish a strong start.
While it is ideal for consistency that therapy takes place at the same time each week, I appreciate this is not realistic for many people, and so I offer the option of ‘floating’ between days and times if needed rather than holding a ‘standing’ appointment for you.
-
I ask for all cancellations be made with 48 hours notice from the start time of the session. If cancelling outwith that time, you would be responsible for the full fee of the session even if there are unforeseen circumstances that led to the cancellation (e.g sickness). It is possible to move from in-person to online in the case of sickness, adverse weather or other circumstances that may prevent safe travel to the office.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely. If you are not based in Edinburgh, we are able to meet online over Zoom. A mix of in-person and online therapy can also be arranged depending on your circumstances.
-
It can be nervewraacking to begin the therapeutic process, wondering if you will have to speak to a ‘blank slate’. I can assure you that we will be in a dialogue. Many clients do not know where to begin, and while there is no ‘right’ way, I am happy to ask open questions to get us started.
-
In a first session, we will spend some time going over the therapy agreement and basic expectations, answering any questions you might have.
We will then begin exploring your current circumstance - what brings you here at this point in time, what past experiences of therapy you’ve had, and relevant history.
-
Therapy is a non-linear process and there is no set length of time. Some clients work quite short term over a matter of weeks or months, while others engage over years and varying seasons of their lives. While I tend to work long term, it is completely dependent on your needs and preferences.
I tend to work in an open ended way, not prescribing any firm number of sessions, as for different people and presentations, the process and outcomes vary significantly.
Throughout the work, we will keep an eye on progress. I encourage clients to bring to me when it feels like time to reduce in frequency or bring the work to an and.

Email is the best way to contact me. I strive to answer all emails in a timely fashion and ask the same from you in return which allows me to manage my diary effectively.
